Blue Mountain has been a winter playground for friends and families since 1941.

The original Blue Mountain skiers not only loved to ski – they enjoyed the

camaraderie of others who shared their passion for outdoor fun.

They created a unique sense of community spirit at Blue Mountain

which is enjoyed by everyone who visits the Resort to this day.

In 1988, Blue Mountain acknowledged this unique sense of community spirit

by naming a ski/snowboard trail – Memory Lane. And, as further recognition

of the lifelong friendships and wonderful memories

that have been made on the slopes of Blue Mountain,

a very special place called Memory Lane Legacy Park

has also been created.

Nestled in the trees between Memory Lane and Tranquility ski runs, and

accessible all year, Memory Lane Legacy Park is a serene and quiet place

where one can remember and celebrate the lives of those who are special to us.

Complemented by natural scenic splendour, the park is bordered by a circle of

quarried Ruby Lake Marble rocks, five to eight feet in height.  Commemorative

plaques mounted on these rocks, also in a circular manner, represent the circle

of life. Benches with views over Georgian Bay offer a quiet place for reflection.

Memory Lane Legacy Park was designed by one of Ontario’s foremost

Landscape Architects, Rick Moore, who graciously donated his time to this

wonderful project.

Memory Lane Legacy Park plaques will be available to anyone who

wishes to commemorate a loved one. Each plaque will cost $1,000.00.

Approximately half of this money will be for the purchase, engraving

and installation of the plaque. The balance of the donation will be allocated

to the charity of choice managed by the United Way of South Georgian Bay

The Village at Blue MountainThe United Way of South Georgian Bay is perfectly

positioned within the community to manage the charitable portion

of Memory Lane Legacy contributions. United Way’s allocation

process and designation policy allows you to select where you

want your donation to go. The choices include United Way’s

Community Fund that supports a diverse group of social

service agencies in the South Georgian Bay area, or any of

Canada’s 85,000 registered charities. Appropriate acknowledgement

of your charitable donation will be arranged by the United Way; a tax receipt

will be issued.
